Privacy
Privacy policy.
Heads up: This is a plain-English summary; it isn't legal advice.
Who we are
Grid & Gigabit (“we,” “us”) builds websites and Ubiquiti UniFi networks for small businesses. We’re based in Camarillo, California. This policy covers gridandgigabit.com and what happens to the information you share with us through it.
The short version: we collect only what you choose to send us, plus basic visit data. We use it to reply to you and to do the work you hire us for. We don’t sell it, and we don’t use it for advertising.
What we collect
What you send us
The contact form asks for:
- Name (required)
- Email address (required)
- Message: what’s going on and what you need (required)
- Business name (optional)
- What you’re interested in: website, network, or both (optional; “both” is pre-selected)
The form also has a hidden, empty field that helps block spam bots. People never see it or fill it in.
If you email us directly or become a client, we’ll also have whatever you include in those emails and any project details you share with us.
What’s collected automatically
- Basic technical data such as IP address, browser and device type, the page requested and the time. Our hosting provider processes this to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- Visit statistics such as pages viewed, referring site, rough location (country) and page-load speed, through our analytics provider. We use these only in aggregate (as totals and trends), not to identify you.
- Web fonts. The site’s fonts are loaded from a font-hosting service, which receives your IP address and browser information when it sends the font files.
How we use it
- To reply to your inquiry and set up your free consult or walk-through.
- To quote, plan and deliver the work you hire us for, and to support it afterward.
- To keep basic business records, such as invoices and project history.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used, so we can make it faster and clearer.
- To keep the site and the form secure and free of spam.
We don’t sell your personal information, we don’t rent it, and we don’t use it for advertising. We won’t add you to a mailing list unless you ask to be on one.
Do Not Track signals
Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal or a Global Privacy Control signal. We don’t track visitors over time or across other websites, and we don’t allow third parties to do so through our site for advertising. So the site works the same whether or not your browser sends these signals, and there’s no cross-site tracking for them to switch off.
Reviewing or changing your information
You can ask us to show you, correct, update or delete the personal information you’ve sent us. Just email [email protected]. We’ll reply and take care of it, unless we need to keep something for a legal or business-records reason. If so, we’ll tell you what we’re keeping and why.
California residents may also ask how we share personal information for direct-marketing purposes (California Civil Code § 1798.83). The answer is that we don’t.
How long we keep it and how we protect it
We keep inquiries and project records only as long as we need them for the purposes above, including normal record-keeping, and then delete them. The site is served over HTTPS, and we limit who can access our inbox and records. No method of sending or storing data online is perfectly secure, though, so please don’t send passwords or payment card numbers through the form.
Children
This site is for businesses. It isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll also note it on the homepage for a reasonable period. Changes apply from the new effective date.
